The First Year Player Draft (FYPD) will be held after the conclusion of the MLB Playoffs (the draft date will be decided by ADMIN).

- It will be a 5 round draft, and will include every player in MLB's June Amatuer Draft and July's International Draft
- MLB International Draft players will be eligible to be drafted as part of our FYPD draft (eg. Maitan); however, must be signed by end of season or they will be released back into FA pool.
- All players under 150 AB/50 Inning are eligible for the FYPD

Future (Next Year) FYPD Picks cannot be traded until the conclusion of the present years draft. You will be notified by the ADMIN when the draft is closed.

International players at the start time of our draft are eligible under MiLB rules considering they are:

1. Signed with a major league club
2. Under the age of 23

International Players, who are signed to after the beginning of the season and over the age of 23, will go through the Free Agency bidding process. Those who are 23 and younger will go the next years FYPD with that years draft class.

Lottery:

First 5 picks will be determined in an off-season lottery at least one week prior to the draft.

- Teams must have a MINIMUM of 800 GP to qualify for the draft lottery

Protected Draft Picks

The bottom five teams (worst teams in the current season) will have protected 1st round FYPD picks (for the following off-season) when bidding in RFA.
- Only 1st round FYPD picks for the bottom five teams will be protected.
- If their bid qualifies as a winner in Tier 1 RFA compensation, the team pick will be replaced with a compensation pick immediately following the team pick
- Protected teams are allowed to forfeit their own protected pick in order to win two RFA players (the owner's protected pick goes to the owner with highest BV).
- If team pick is in the lottery, in the following season, the compensatory pick will be after the protected picks (i.e. 6th pick of next FYPD, after all the lottery teams picks)
                                *Tiebreaker: Bid Value for the receiving team pick.

*Example: NYM finishes in 30th place (bottom five), in which, their 1st round pick of that year becomes protected. NYM wins a player in RFA that qualifies for Tier 1 RFA compensation for the owning GM. The owning GM will receive the compensation pick one spot lower than where NYM picks the next season (i.e. NYM wins the league, their draft slot is 30th, so the compensation pick is slotted at 1.31).

Draft Process and Draft Clock:

- During the FYPD, we will use a 8-12 hour clock (if needed). "Nighttime pause, grace period, etc." will be added to the FYPD draft to avoid time expiring over the late night (amount of time will be decided by ADMIN).
- Picks can be traded anytime prior to player selection.
- If your pick is skipped voluntarily or timed out, the pick can and should be made at any time during the draft.
- Once the draft closes after the final pick is valid, you cannot make up the pick and will be charged the full dollar amount penalty for that slot.

        *Draft picks can only be traded in the current years draft; future picks can be traded once the draft is closed and finalized*

League office can at anytime escalate the clock to manage the completion of the draft prior to the season beginning. Please monitor GroupMe and e-mail daily during the draft for updates or selection.

INAUGURAL MLB DRAFT

1. The MLB Draft start date is TBD and time will be determined using a 12 hour clock for each pick.
2. Going to be away? post in the Out of Town thread. You can also send a list of players to the league account: FreeAgencyAccount. The league office will log-into the account when your OTC and make the pick for you.
3. Quick access to the full list of "Taken Players" on the News bar at the top of the forum. CTRL-F to search the list (Command+F on MAC). List will be updated as quickly as possible.
4. OTC picks can be traded. All picks can be traded prior to being OTC.
5. Any player on an MLB team with 50/150 is eligible including Signed International prospects 23 or older are eligible once signed and go to the MLB draft or next open free agency period if signed mid season and 23 years of age or older. ALL PLAYERS PREVIOUSLY SIGNED BEFORE ELIGIBLE DATE ARE AVAILABLE UNDER 150AB/50IN rule
6. There will be a master list of all players and contracts by team. Email Indians for more info.
7. Managers are responsible for keeping their Team pages up to date, this includes trades, drafted players and all transactions.
8. Missed picks can be made up anytime (don't anticipate this being an issue but just in case it comes up, all picks must be in by March 2017). Missing consecutive/multiple picks may mean loosing your clock until you are back on track. (this includes passed or forfeited picks)
9. These 2 drafts are long, expected finish date is around March 2017. The League Office reserves the right to take action "in the best interest of the league" to keep the draft moving. Managers who go over the time slot for any round and do not respond to emails and generally show a lack of interest in the league, will be replaced. This applies to WCB in-season and off-season, not just the drafts.
10. Missed or illegal picks (players previously selected or not eligible) are made up after it is determined illegal and can result in being skipped over by other teams. It is not the league office responsibility to bring attention to an illegal pick.

There will be an inaugural 25 round MLB draft run on Proboards (slow draft). Snake order to be determined by random number generator with possible video presentation showing the final Draft order. This is a modified Auction type draft where players will be assigned set dollar amounts by rounds. Any player >=50/150 is eligible.

Trading is allowed during the draft but the traded dollars must be equal on both sides.

INITIAL PLAYER CONTRACTS
Players will need to be signed to a contract of up to 4 years in length (1,2,3, or 4). The initial contract lengths must be announced by March 30th and posted on your team page.

INAUGURAL MLiB DRAFT
For the purpose of our Inaugural drafts, Any player who has yet to accumulate 50 innings pitched or 150 at bats is in the minor league draft pool MiLB draft.

MiLB picks can be traded during both the MLB and MiLB draft (mix and match), however, the number of MiLB picks must be equal going both ways (1 for 1). Each pick is worth the Dollar amount of that slot. If a team drops a player of forfeits a pick he has to pay the appropriate penalty. $'s have to match on all pick trades.

International players at the start time of our draft are eligible under MiLB rules considering they are (either of the below)
1. signed with a major league club and
2. under the age of 23
3. not listed by the League Office as ineligable

*Due to the signing date and the time of our draft all players signed to an MLB franchise use the 150AB/50IN rule regardless of age
During the inaugural MLB and MiLB draft there will be a $2 difference allowed in trades involving players. All trades involving only MLB draft picks must remain equal in $ value
If your pick is skipped voluntarily or timed out the pick can ab=ns should be made at any time during the draft. Once the draft closes after the final pick is valid you cannot make up the pick and will be charged the full dollar amount penalty for that slot.
